Terms of Use

Last updated: July 21, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Daybreak, developed and operated by Ryan Setiawan ("we," "us," or "our"), an independent developer based in Indonesia. By downloading, installing, or using Daybreak, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. Eligibility

You must be able to form a legally binding contract in your country of residence to use Daybreak. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you may only use Daybreak with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

2. License to Use Daybreak

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Daybreak on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store's usage rules. This license is for your personal use only.

3. Purchases

Daybreak is free to use. It offers optional one-time purchases that support its development and are billed once — they do not renew, and there is no subscription. Daybreak is currently free in full; paid plans may be introduced in the future, and if that happens, the terms will be shown to you before you're asked to pay anything.

The exact title and price of whatever is currently being offered are shown to you at the point of purchase, in the app and on the App Store.

All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We don't receive or store your payment details, and refund requests are handled by Apple under its own policies — we're not able to issue refunds directly.

4. Accounts

Creating an account is optional and unlocks nothing — it exists so your support purchase can be recognized across reinstalls and devices. Accounts are created through Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google, so there's no Daybreak password to manage; keeping your Apple or Google account secure is what keeps your Daybreak account secure. You're responsible for anything that happens under your account, and we may suspend or terminate an account that we believe is being used in violation of these Terms.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse Daybreak — including attempting to reverse-engineer the app, interfere with its normal operation, or use it in any way that violates applicable law.

6. What Daybreak Is (and Isn't)

Daybreak is a self-directed productivity tool that helps you restrict your own access to selected apps on a schedule you set. It is not a safety, medical, or emergency device, and it should never be relied on to guarantee access — or restrict access — to anything safety-critical. If you're in a genuine emergency, use whatever means necessary to get help, including your device's built-in emergency features, regardless of Daybreak's current settings.

7. Intellectual Property

Daybreak's name, logo, and in-app content belong to us. These Terms don't grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding beyond what's needed to use the app as intended.

8. Third-Party Services

Daybreak relies on services from Apple (Screen Time, App Store, Sign in with Apple) and, for account, purchase, and analytics features, on Firebase, RevenueCat, and PostHog, as described in our Privacy Policy. Your use of those services is also subject to their own terms.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Daybreak is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Daybreak. Our total liability for any claim relating to Daybreak is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months before the claim arose.

11. Termination

You may stop using Daybreak and delete it at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if we reasonably believe you've violated these Terms.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as Daybreak's features or legal requirements change. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date and, where required, provide additional notice through the app or by email.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are intended to be interpreted reasonably and in good faith, with regard to applicable consumer protection laws in your country of residence.
